GMV: Fad Diet?

So Becoming vegetarian / vegan/ organic /GMO free or anything that can ultimately better your health is being label as a “fad diet” via people on the internet, or certain persons I’ve talked to have said “fad diet” in the same sentence as Veg/ organic/ GMO free.

Let me take a moment of my day to define a “fad diet” Using my ever so trusty Google page definitions :

–>A fad diet is a weight loss plan or aid that promises dramatic results. These diets typically don’t result in long-term weight loss and they are usually not very healthy. In fact, some of these diets can actually be dangerous to your health.

Hmm, I think those whom say that the above mentions is a fad diet are wrong, yep wrong and more or less ignorant. Because how is consuming mainly organic food a means of “extreme weight loss” or even GMO free. How is becoming vegetarian a diet that “promises dramatic results”, when I choose to become a vegetarian the only thing dramatic it promised me is that I would be saving animals lives and not eating carcasses any more. Lastly how is consuming pure natural foods from the earth closest to their natural state “dangerous to [my] heath”

I don’t know about you but I can tell you my reasoning to becoming Veterinarian/ vegan  are not of anything of a “fad diet” that’s for sure and if more and more people are doing it then the better! I personally choose this lifestyle (not fad diet) because it promotes health and longevity while being aware and conscious, I choose to eat a sustainable diet that doesn’t involve mass murder.

I’m sure ya’ll have opinions so lay them down in the comments! 🙂

Peace.

Forks over Knives

Is such a  great documentary,

but then again every documentary I watch is a good one haha.

This one relates to my ideology about meat & other animal products. Which are they are actually not that good for you, the calcium in milk which is “told to us day in and out” that it is good for us – but actually it leaches the calcium out of your bones. The cholesterol in all animal products can be deadly long term.

Another thing animal products are carcinogens which can lead and promote cancer growths.

And finally, every time you eat meat, bird, fish or a mammal you are killing, or supporting mass murder.   (hardcore tree huger sorry bros)  I’m not saying ” I hate you” or “we cant be friends” or “you are stupid” but what I am saying is this : Can you yourself go up to a cow Cut it’s throat open and drain it’s blood, then proceed to gut it and butcher it, then finally sit down and cook yourself a nice old steak ? I know I like steak – but personally I could never do those actions so WHY SHOULD I pay someone else to do it for me.  Since I feel like I cannot kill and will not kill – I personally believe that I shouldn’t pay someone to do it for me.

* This is just my personal thoughts and what I believe in, and I am not telling you my readers that this is the only way, I’m just stating my opinion on my way of life, do not what so ever be offended, and I would love to welcome your POSITIVE comments at the end of this post ❤

Anyways I’m not an expert and I’m not saying I know everything, But I’m’ saying I’ve been doing research and plan on taking a nutrient course soon. (There goes 1000$)  So that I can finally preach and say things being backed up by a paper.

Do you ever know things but people never believe because you lack a professional paper ?

peace.

Also my supper yummy soup recipe to come ❤

Things to do..

I have so many things I want to do, and this cold/sore throat/ is really holding my back and sucking all my energy away.

I’ve been wanting to do so much but all I do is sleep.

So today I said I have to do some of my things then once I’m done them I can take a nap.

So Today, I help edit my Bf’s Resume, Showered, and am now blogging (also worked am milking)

I still have a few other things I’d like to do before I lay down (if I even do)

I want to workout more!!!

I keep on jumping in between 3 lbs, and I can run 5km in 36 minutes (terrible I know eh) And I want to improve this time by % minutes before the months over! (But I’m bloody sick -_-)

I also should go see my aunt sometime, my dad and brother need a visit too.

Also Trying to keep RT4, OR HCLFRV as a lifestyle but it is hard.

But one thing I can say is that i’m still vegetarian and I love it 🙂

I wish saying no was so much more easier. I wish I could just walk a way, but I always give in. Especially to the bad things like chocolate and cupcakes and pizza. NOM.

Do you have any tricks or tips to make saying no easier?

Is being this sleepy normal ?

I need fitness/ health motivation! ?

Peace.

GMV: Hardest step

So this is the second entry in my Girl meets vegan (and in later Girl meets vegan lifestyle meaning that I have successfully become vegan) This entry is a little on the worrisome side and the unsureness of my decision.

Coffee.

And

Dairy. (less of a concern / problem as compared to coffee hence why this blog will mostly address my coffee problems)

These two things have been in my life for years.

I grew up as a little girl occasionally getting tea and then steady at the age of 14/15 I would have a cup a day, then my late teens 17- 22 I would have more than cup  a day sometimes  a pot a day- I did included 22 there because I only started changing my habits in March and  I turned 22 in February so that is accounted for.  And going back to my 17 years I would have a pot a day – I didn’t like soda and coffee was relatively a cheap beverage, so it was and still is an addiction.

I plan on quitting coffee, maybe cold turkey, maybe substitute it with something else.

One thing is for sure I am ADDICTED to caffeine, the kind of massive head ache, and even sometimes vomiting if I don’t consume a cup of caffeine a day. Mind you as long as I have a cup a day of tea or coffee I’m good as gold.

I don’t want to be addicted to this. Maybe if coffee was a super food it would bother me, but it is not a super food and has been labeled as bad for you. Sometimes I won’t even consume other beverages like water or juice it was/is just coffee. Thirsty have a cup of coffee, preworkout beverage is coffee. (~~Mind you these are true and real examples of my self between 17 and 22, But I have started since Jan 2014 to cut down on coffee consumption and first thing in the am have a good big ol’ gulp of water, sometimes 1/4 a glass sometimes a cup of water~~)

So to conclude, I want to quit coffee and limit my milk intake or replace these two intakes with better healthier options that I’m not addicted to.

What are you addicted too ?

Peace

Girl meets Vegan; A diary series.

This little series covers my transitioning from everyday american / Canadian foodie to raw vegan. On this quest of a life style change I will enter through the easier vegitarian way.

“Raw veganism is a diet that combines the concepts of veganism and raw foodism. It excludes all food and products of animal origin, as well as food cooked at a temperature above 48 °C.” according to wikipidea

This is what I’m working towards, This is the first post in my journey. I started this journey March 1st.  As you’re reading this you are probably thinking wait that’s a month ago or so …

I wasn’t comfortable with posting this to my news feed right away. Only people I know personally know about my lifestyle changes.

So readers I ask you of two things,  Support and positive vibes.

Are you partaking in a “lifestyle” change ?

Peace.
